A justice lobby group claims at least one of the Government’s top ministers does not want to vote for the proposed anti-smacking legislation.

The Government is hoping to get the numbers to pass the bill under urgency.

Sensible Sentencing Spokesman Garth McVicar says Corrections Minister Damian O’Connor is being forced to vote for the bill, which he does not support.

Mr McVicar has written to a number of top ministers, urging them to break ranks.
