Complaints authority/cyfswatch and section 59:

Timing a wee bit too convenient?

Complaints authority/cyfswatch and section 59:

“But Ruth Dyson’s office says that a complaints authority is something it has been working on for some time.”

It is real convenient of Ruth Dyson to say that they have been working on a complaints authority and now to announce it once cyfswatch is established and doing such a great job.

It is also convenient for Ruth Dyson to announce a complaints authority one week before the second reading of Section 59.

Is this to make us feel better about cyfs and Section 59?

No it never will, it is never good to take children from a functional, loving, caring home whose parents have used reasonable force to correct their children.

MPs: don’t vote for the repeal of Section 59 or for the Committee’s amendment.
Please keep Section 59 as it is.
